ULTRAcel Q+ (HIFU)

What is HIFU?

High intensity focused ultrasound in short HIFU, is a converged ultrasound energy with high energy at a focal point targeted at the SMAS layer. This SMAS layer is the actual area a plastic surgeon would pull and tighten under a surgical operation using a knife. HIFU targets this layer without any surgical incisions, giving the patient a no-downtime facelift.

Thus it is an effective non-surgical treatment that promotes neocollagenesis. ULTRAcel Q+ helps to reduce stubborn fat cells and tightens areas on the face and body with the additional benefit of reducing flushing and redness.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), HIFU is an alternative to facelifts and have seen a major increase in popularity over the last few years. It is sometime called the ‘Lunchtime Face Lift’ as the treatment is quick, very tolerable and has no downtime.

Why Ultracel Q plus?

Ultracel Q plus uses a unique linear probe that covers 6x larger treatment area than dot type to cause bulk heating and it is able to do 300 shots in less than 3 minutes. Most promisingly , much lesser pain is felt than the dot type or other HIFU machines.

How does it feel?

You may experience slight discomfort during an HIFU procedure. Some people describe it as tiny electric pulses or a light prickly sensation. This is due to vibrations of the sound energy as they travel to deeper layers of the skin.

Who needs it?

This non surgical facelift procedure effectively sculpts and lifts the face also contours the body while improving lymphatic drainage. This procedure is best for folks who have wrinkles , sagging and laxed skin , puffy face and stubborn fats at certain body parts.

FAQ

ULTRAcel Q+ is effective for skin lifting, tightening and facial/body contouring. There is also evidence to suggest it helps with skin brightening.

ULTRAcel Q+ is effective even after one time treatment. However, for more enhanced and lasting effects, patients may require additional treatments.

Depending on the size of treatment areas and skin condition, the entire treatment will take approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

There may be some mild discomfort, slight aching and tingling sensation during the procedure but these are only temporary and well-tolerated by all patients.

The difference can be seen right after treatment but this is mainly due to very mild swelling and immediate tightening of the collagen fibre network caused by heat generated from the intense focused ultrasound waves. Collagen regeneration takes place up to 3 months.

Depending on the pre-existing skin condition and severity of skin laxity, treatment results can last up to 12 months after one single treatment. For better results, we highly recommend going for a repeat treatment in 6 to 9 months.
